The St. Regis Singapore has revealed a striking redesign of its iconic John Jacob Ballroom, reinforcing its position as one of Asia’s most sought-after addresses for milestone celebrations and high-profile business events.
Reimagined by the acclaimed interior design studio FBEYE International, the refreshed space honours the venue’s legacy as the “House of Celebrations” while introducing a nature-inspired aesthetic that feels both timeless and contemporary. Drawing inspiration from the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens, the redesign transforms the ballroom into a radiant garden pavilion, elevated by two crowning skylights that allow natural daylight to flood the space by day and set the stage for softly glowing, candlelit affairs by night.
Nature Meets Nuance: A Garden Pavilion Reborn
Spanning 7,638 square feet, the pillarless ballroom accommodates up to 400 guests for gala dinners or 500 in a theatre-style setting. The space can also be split into two independent venues for more intimate occasions.
The design language throughout is rich in botanical references. Climbing vine motifs and a custom-designed carpet—infused with hues of sage, tangerine, olive, and aged stone—evoke a secret garden, while sculptural floral chandeliers and intelligent lighting bring refined softness and flexibility to the room.
A new built-in bar anchors the foyer, allowing for live cocktail showmanship and social mingling. Guests of honour can retreat to a dedicated VIP Room, complete with plush furnishings and botanical accents, offering a private sanctuary mere steps from the main event.
Designed for Experience-Led Events
The transformation is more than aesthetic. The ballroom now features two high-resolution LED walls (9.6m x 5.28m), ten intelligent lighting systems, and a high-fidelity sound system, ensuring the venue is future-ready for high-impact corporate presentations, immersive brand showcases, and luxe experiential activations.
“The John Jacob Ballroom has long been the setting for some of Singapore’s most celebrated weddings and official events,” said Nick Heath, General Manager of The St. Regis Singapore. “This redesign allows us to evolve with our guests, delivering events that are equal parts heritage and innovation. As Singapore aims to triple its MICE tourism by 2040, we are proud to contribute a venue that is built for the future.”
Elevated Event Privileges
In line with the refresh, The St. Regis Singapore also offers its “Meetings Reimagined” MICE privileges, which include suite upgrades, curated cocktail experiences, and exclusive reception packages depending on minimum spend.
The New Benchmark for Celebratory Venues
At a time when event planners and corporate hosts are seeking venues that merge immersive design with technical sophistication, the redesigned John Jacob Ballroom exemplifies what it means to create with purpose. It is not merely a venue, it is an invitation to reimagine what luxury events can be.
