Words have power. What we tell ourselves shape our beliefs, drive our behavior, and ultimately, create our world. Their power arises from our emotional responses when we read, speak, or hear words.
Studies have shown that positive and negative words affect us on a deep psychological level and are responsible for either inducing stress and anxiety hormones or motivate us into action.
By exercising consistent positive thoughts and speech, we not only change our self-perception, but how we perceive the world around us. Ultimately, this grants us the ability the shape our reality and change the world for the better.
As Barrett puts it, “Our words hypnotise us. Are you using your words, language and imagination to think about what you do want, or what you don’t want?”
