New domestic flight options, spaces, and event bid wins as Western Australia increases momentum to attract business events.
Travellers will soon be able to fly directly from Sydney/Warrane to the popular Margaret River wine region in Western Australia. The thrice-weekly flights, operated by Jetstar and commencing in late March 2024, come a year after the airline commenced direct flights to the region from Melbourne/Narrm.
New Perth and Rottnest Island scenic flights – Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia
Fly Perth, an expansion of scenic flight operator Fly Esperance, has launched in Perth/Boorloo with a range of new aerial tour experiences. The half-day ‘Perth and Rottnest Grand with Stopover’ offers breathtaking views of the Swan River, Perth city, and coastline, and includes a two-hour stop on the famous Rottnest Island, ending with a flyover of historic Fremantle. For groups seeking a full-day experience, the ‘Breakfast on Rotto and Lunch in the Swan’ tour includes breakfast on Rottnest Island followed by lunch at a Swan Valley winery of choice. Fly Perth’s aircraft seats eight passengers, and larger groups can be staggered across multiple flights.
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) partners with Carbon Positive Australia – Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) in Western Australia has taken a significant sustainability step by formally partnering with Carbon Positive Australia. The aim of the partnership is to empower clients with a conscientious and carbon-positive approach to their events, where they will have the opportunity to donate a tree or contribute funds towards tree planting. The collaboration is based on a shared commitment to environmental restoration, carbon offsetting, and community wellbeing. Funds raised will contribute to large-scale tree planting projects, fostering environmental restoration and biodiversity and playing a crucial role in carbon sequestration, which helps to mitigate the environmental impact of events.

Perth to host Routes Asia 2025 – Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia
Western Australia’s capital city Perth/Boorloo has been chosen as the host city for Routes Asia in 2025, the leading aviation and tourism trade event in the Asia-Pacific region. More than 1,000 delegates will attend the aviation route development event at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) from 25 – 27 March, 2025. Routes Asia attracts leaders from the global airline, airport and tourism sector to discuss new aviation connections. The bid was supported by Business Events Australia’s Bid Fund programme.
