Insights from IMEX Frankfurt 2025: Presence, Purpose and the Power of Showing Up

At BEAMexperience, we believe that industry events aren’t just about what’s on the floor — they’re about what happens between the booths. IMEX Frankfurt 2025 was no exception. What stood out most wasn’t just the exhibits or activations — it was the conversations, the intentional design choices, and the subtle shifts in how people engaged with one another.

IMEX continues to deliver meaningful platforms for the global business events community to reconnect, rediscover, and reimagine what’s possible. From the registration flow to the appointment experience, this year’s edition reinforced the value of thoughtful design in how events are run.

Our Managing Director and Chief Buyer Connector, Kiat Chua, attended this year’s gathering alongside a curated group of buyers from our region. Here are some of our takeaways from this year’s IMEX.

1. Show Up — and Be Unmistakable

Trade shows are full of name tags, lanyards, and small talk. But the ones who are remembered are the ones who bring a sense of self. A bold accessory. A sharp opening line. A spark of humour.

Presence isn’t about being loud. It’s about being clear — about who you are, what you believe, and why you’re worth connecting with.

2. It’s Not About More — It’s About Meaning

Across the floor, what drew us in — and stayed with us — were the stands that felt considered. Designed to invite, not overwhelm.

Thoughtful design slows people down. It opens space for questions. It creates pause. And in the world of events, that’s powerful.

3. Purpose is the New Proposal

There’s a quiet shift happening in our industry — one that moves away from deliverables and toward alignment. Less “What can you offer me?” and more “What can we build together?”

We heard this again and again in our conversations: that meaningful connection comes not from pitch decks, but from shared intent.

4. Time Matters More Than Ever

As one of our buyers, Jong Serrano, President of U-Travel Services and U-Events Inc., noted — the change in appointment structure made a noticeable difference.

“With meetings extended up to 30 minutes, buyers and suppliers had the opportunity to engage in more meaningful and in-depth discussions. It allowed a better understanding of each other’s needs and capabilities.”

Longer conversations led to stronger outcomes. And that matters.

Closing

Before we wrap, a heartfelt thank you to the curated group of buyers who joined us in Frankfurt. Your energy, openness, and insights made the experience even more meaningful. It was also a joy to reconnect with so many familiar faces — from regional partners to global industry friends. These moments of reunion are what truly make events like IMEX special. This photo perfectly sums it all up. Leave inspired, not tired.

IMEX Frankfurt 2025 reminded us of something simple but important: connection is still our strongest currency. The trade floor may evolve. Formats may shift. But presence, clarity, and time well spent — those will always hold value.

This is what we’re taking into every conversation we have next.
